The collection Čerga has been published in three editions: the first in 2002, the second in 2004, and the third in 2008. It features fourteen stories of varying lengths, where Karan vividly depicts the world around him using traditional storytelling techniques. The book offers a realistic portrayal of everyday life, sharing the experiences of ordinary people. Themes explored include unrequited love, unfulfilled dreams, misunderstandings within communities, the pursuit of the nearly impossible, and a longing for distant, unknown places.

Besides the title story Čerga, the collection also includes stories such as "Dream, And Marija Vizi Lived in That Way, Flower at the Well, Black Lady, Widows, and Unexpected Love, among others.
